As a vibrant and energetic community the town of Marquard and its people would like to invite you to visit the hidden jewel of the Free State. This beautiful little town, situated in the South Eastern Free State, is a peaceful getaway and is well known for its mountain biking, 4 x 4, hiking and horse-riding trails. Most of all Marquard is known for its friendliness. This is a town where people wave at strangers and where locals enjoy each other’s and visitor’s company.

The townspeople take pride in their town. This is evident in the well kept state of the town. The inhabitants work closely with the municipality to ensure that the town does not become run down. Another Marquard success story, a very helpful local municipality! An active Marquard Business Association (MBA) ensures open and active dialogue between the municipality and the needs of the town.
